Travel off peak
Summer months June, July and August are key months to travel. Unfortunately
this is also when the prices on all vacations are sky high. Try traveling off
season, in September through December or January through April, you will see
a difference in price.
Choose travel packages
It is much cheaper to get a package deal that includes hotel and airfare as
opposed to separate pricing. Go to a travel agent they have some great packages
that they can put together for you.
Use discount websites
There are hundreds of websites that offer discount travel. There is Travelocity,
Expedia and Price Line. You can save money with these sites.
Rent a Vacation Apartment
Hotels can be rather expensive, along with meals it can run you a lot of money.
Most vacation destinations have apartments to rent. These are furnished apartments
that are in a complex but you can cook your own meals which will save you a
lot of money. Apartment rentals are cheaper than hotels and a lot of these complexes
have swimming pools.
Pay by Cash or Check
If you are planning a vacation try to save the money and pay in cash. When
you pay by credit card you will be charged interest every time you don't
pay off the amount. When you pay in cash, that is it. It is paid for.
