There are many different types of dwellings to rent from furnished to unfurnished,
from studios to one to two bedrooms and rooms for rent. Rooms are cheaper than
apartments but there are some differences.
Privacy
When you rent an apartment you get privacy, when you want to be alone you can
go anywhere you want in your apartment, when you rent a room you can get some
privacy in the room you are renting but there are other people renting rooms
like you and they are in the common areas like the living room and kitchen.
Space
If you don't have a lot of things then renting a room may be perfect
for you. If you have a lot of things like furniture or appliances then a room
will not cut it. Rooms are great for the reason they are furnished, the common
areas are furnished and you don't have to worry that you won't have
enough room.
Pets
You have more of a chance in getting to keep a pet in an apartment then in
a room. Rooms are to small for a pet and you can't keep a pet in the common
rooms incase the other renters do not like pets.
Rent
The rent is much cheaper when you rent a room, It may cost around $ 400 for
the month. A studio apartment can start at $ 800. If money is an issue then
renting a room is right for you and if space is more of an issue as well as
privacy then an apartment is right for you. It really a matter or preference.
