The Rochester Red Wings are a minor league baseball team located in Rochester, New York. They are actually the Triple A affiliate of the major league baseball team the Minnesota Twins. The Red Wings home field is the Frontier Field but in previous season it used to be the Silver Stadium before moving to Frontier Field in 1997. The Rochester Red Wings used to be an affiliate of the St Louis Cardinals from 1928 to 1960 and then they were associated with the Baltimore Orioles from 1961 to 2002.

The game of baseball has been played in Rochester since 1877 when the team was called the Rochester's of the International Association, they were then known as the Rochester Bronchos and they won their league championship in it's opening season. The Red Wings also hold the distinction of being one of 6 franchises that have ever played in the same city and the same league for an uninterrupted length of time since the 1800's.

The Red Wings made their own history when they played the longest game ever, The Red Wings and the Pawtucket Red Sox hold the longest Professional baseball game what lasted 33 inning, 8 hours and 25 minutes over the course of 3 days. The game was played at McCoy Stadium in 1981, the first day of play was called at 4 am and the Red Wings lost that game 3 to 2.
