Rochester is located in Upstate New York about 7 hours from Manhattan. The city has over a million people who live and work here. The city is also known as the Flower City which was named in 1830. There are 12 main cities in the entire city of Rochester, they are Greece, Gates, Fairport, East Rochester, Brighton, Chili, Pittsford, Victor, Webster Irondequoit, Penfield and Henrietta. The city was founded in 1817 when the Browns Brothers of Brown' Race and other residences put their land together and formed the Hundred Acre Tract which they called the Village of Rochesterville.

The climate of Rochester is seasonal like the rest of the state, the winter months do produce a lot of snow. The 30 year annual average snowfall is about 95 inches. Some winters like anyplace else are worse than others. A normal summer temp would be around 80 degrees unless there was a n unexpected heat wave.

The economy in Rochester has many big businesses some of them are international. Some of the bigger businesses in this area are Eastman Kodak, Constellation Brands, Paychex. The best supermarket in Rochester is Wegman' they have a lot of store all of which are huge and employ hundreds of people. Some popular franchises here are Bill Gray', Tim Horton', Tom Wahl and Abbotts Frozen Custard.

There are also many great colleges and universities located here. You have the University of Rochester, Monroe Community College, Rochester Institute of Technology and Saint John Fisher College to name a few.
