 Verizon is the same company that offers you your phone and cell phone service.
Verizon Communications was formed in 2000 when Bell Atlantic bought the company
GTE. The original Verizon began in 1983 as the Bell Atlantic Corporation. When
they acquired Bell Atlantic they also acquired 7 other companies. When they
deal was done the date on the deal was recorded as 1998. Verizon offers many
great services, they offer Voice which includes Voips. The offer Verizon Voice
Wing which is a division where the company offers phone service through a broadband
connection like DSL , cable, wireless router or internet connections.
Verizon introduced it's FiOS Video Service in Texas in September 2005.
The FiOS system uses like other companies optical fiber networks that will give
you 330 channels and 180 digital channels and music channels and 20 high definition
channel and 1800 Video on Demand movies. They can also provide Direct TV service
as well.
Verizon still provides DSL Internet in many areas but not in all. The company
began offering high speed internet through their FiOS Internet. Verizon is unfortunately
the biggest network for spammers. Not something to be proud of. Verizon still
offers great phone service as well as the best directory in the country the
Super Yellow Pages.
The company offers what they call a SmartPark which is an advanced cable system
that uses copper as well as fiber optics to give the best quality cable possible
. The SmartPark offers ATM, Internet, T1, Video Conferencing, Frame Delay and
DSL to name a few. The SmartPark is found in states like Florida, Texas, Indiana,
North Carolina, Maine, Idaho and Maryland to name a few. It is not available
in every state, check with your local carrier and see if the SmartPark is available
in your area.
